"Hospitality with a touch of heart,” is the slogan of Sam’s Giardino. Holding a Swiss diploma in hotel management from Lausanne, Samuel Egger is no newcomer to the world of hospitality and this is immediately apparent.....

.... The guests are welcomed by an efficient and smiling team, all of whom are completely interchangeable: each member of staff takes it in turn in a very modern kitchen to cook the 5-course menu no less! A tasting of South African wines is offered in the impressive cellar and dinners are served with flair at individual tables near the new fireplace. Food and drink are an essential part of the experience here! The atmosphere throughout is convivial, the guests gathering in the living room to watch National Geographic CDs, or browsing in a very well-stocked library. There is a cosy lounge on the gallery upstairs with tourist info, where you can organize your visits while having a coffee. Sam will help you with advice on the main points of interest, and book activities and restaurants on your behalf. Sam's Giardino, a comfortable house built in Swiss style with a glass-wall in front, is found in the midst of its own bijou plant-filled garden and fish pond. The rooms are spread out over two floors and decorated in tones of red and green. Sam's passion, and this you will understand when you meet him, is his pedigree bernese hound, Beethoven, whom Sam refers to as the Public Relations Manager. During the last three years the guest house has undergone a complete refurb, new bar, new lounge, new showers....
